Paris Marathon 12th April 2015
Report by Claire Thurgate
DOVER ROAD RUNNERS CONQUER PARIS Seven intrepid road runners made the trip to Paris to take part in the 39th Paris marathon. After training through the winter the runners were presented with a glorious warm spring day. A predominantly flat course which took in the iconic attractions of Paris meant there was plenty to occupy the mind as well as the large number of runners.
Gary Barnes led the way home in a fantastic personal best (by over 45 minutes) of 3:25. He was followed by Claire Thurgate and Odette Collard-Woolmer both in a PB time of 4:09, Claire Jones 4:55, Michele Barnes 5:09 (PB by 1 hour 6 minutes), Elaine Ellender 5:27 (PB) and John Thorpe 5:56 (beating his last martathon time by 43 minutes).
