A new Junior Section to be launched at Dover Road Runners…

Athletics 365

Dover Roadrunners A.C. have on many different occasions during this season been asked if we could have children join in our sessions whilst we are out training in our local parks and via our website.

Family members and their friends have entered children in local events and without coaching and would like them to progress which we cannot do without coaches and equipment so we have looked into it and we feel as a Club we could have at least 20 6-11 years join straight away and our aim is to be up and running in June 2016.

Dover Road Runners club chairman and coach Phillip Coleman has undertaken training in a safeguarding course and the coaching assistants course on the 5-6/12/2015 at Lee Valley Athletics centre and Athletics coach course for 6 days this year to qualify as the leader for our club and Junior section.

Partly funded by Kent Bursary via Kent sport and Dover Road Runners a/c. Equipment has been funded by DDC neighbourhood fund and local rotary clubs.  We would like to say a very big thank you for the donations from these clubs to help us launch – We really appreciate their support.

Now we need to know who is interested in taking part – the timing will be 16.15 on a Thursday afternoon summer months at the Danes winter months in a school hall every week except Easter and Christmas school holidays and the whole of August.

Starting in May 2016 and costing £1.50 per session, paid monthly. Sessions lasting about a hour based on athletics and running under what’s call athletics 365 (look up on the internet for more information) We will be limited to 20 to start with but could go up to 30 when others are qualified.

So if you are interested get back to Phil asap at phillipcoleman007@yahoo.co.uk

Thanks – and please spread the word!
