Report by Claire Thurgate Husk hurries home! Lydd Half Marathon and 20 mile 8th March 2015 Report by Odette Collard-Woolmer

On Sunday 8th March a group of Dover Road Runners took on the Lydd Half Marathon and Lydd 20 mile races.  Promised to be a pancake –flat course it did not disappoint and there were certainly no hills in Lydd and the surrounding Romney Marsh!  It was a beautiful sunny morning if a little breezy when we set off which made for a very pleasant run and pretty course but there was a stiff headwind for the last 3 miles.  The half marathon and 20 mile route followed the same course which was an out and … [Read more...]

Thanet 20 1st March 2015 Report by Claire Thurgate

Four Dover Road Runners took part in the Ricki Savage Thanet 20 mile.  Despite blue skies, strong winds added an additional factor to this undulating course around the Thanet coast line.  Leela Osborne was first home in 2:59:57 followed by Odette Collard-Woolmer (3:07:09 PB), Claire Thurgate (3:07:10) and Julian Manser (3:07:47). The Wrekin Wreaker Fell Race Sunday 23rd November 2014

Report by Colin Wood The Wrekin is a large wooded mound or hill near Wellington Telford in Shropshire. It is 1335 feet high, 1.75 miles long and 0.75 miles wide with many tracks and paths all over it. The race route goes over the top three times and is about 7.5 miles long exploring every side of the hill. A total climb of over 2000ft. Canterbury 10 25th January 2015 Report by Angela Parker

Ten Dover Road Runners went to Canterbury and ran the 10 mile race on this glorious day. The sun was out and it was warmer outside than it was in the Chaucer Technology School, the race headquarters. It was the first time in a long time that the weather was kind than it had been in previous years. Sunday 7th December 2014 5 Dover Road Runners lined up at the start of the Thanet 10 mile. The course is flat out and back with stunning Sea Views along this beautiful Coast Line which starts at West Gate on Sea and heads out to Margate and through to Cliftonville. 666-A Devilish 7mile Trail Run. On Sunday 16th November 13 members from Dover Road Runners completed the gruelling 7 miles trail run set in the idyllic ancient woodlands of King's Wood, Challock, Kent. The course was extremely challenging through woodland paths, bridleways and fire roads which were muddy, wet and in places steep slippery slopes, some needing ropes for runners to pull themselves up. Report by Sylvia Barrett Team Snowdonia Saturday 25th October Team Dover Road Runners gathered at the start of the Snowdonia Marathon.
