About Us

Dover Roadrunners AC is an athletics club concentrating on running, including road running, off road, trails and track. The club is led and run solely on a voluntary basis.

Established in 2002, we are a cohesive group of members who are passionate about running. We currently meet twice a week, aiming to help you improve your running in a friendly atmosphere.

Our Coaches

We have six LIR (Leadership In Running) qualified coaches -

Philip Coleman – Head Coach, Athletics Coach LIR and Welfare Officer.

Sylvia Barrett – President of Dover Roadrunners, Assistant Athletics Coach LIR, First Aid qualified.

Warren Uden – Assistant Athletics Coach LIR.

Martin McConnell – LIR and First Aid qualified.

Leela Osborne – LIR and First Aid qualified.

Jo Daniels – LIR and First Aid qualified.

Weekly Sessions

Weekly sessions are held on a Tuesday & Thursday.

Tuesdays: We meet on a Tuesday evening at 6:15pm, for a variety of interval sessions including hill work. Venues can vary, so please keep an eye on our Weekly Sessions page for Tuesday meeting places.

Thursdays: On a Thursday, we meet at 6pm in The Weights Room, Charlton Green, Dover, CT16 1AA, for a 6:15pm start.  This is for a run, which is normally along the lines of 10k (6 miles). We cover various routes. We have various speeds and will make sure all new members are made to feel welcome. They will be put in a group to suit their speed and ability.

We also have an Early Bird Club which sets off at 6pm at a more gentle pace.

Become a Member

There is a £40 annual fee for membership of the club, which covers 2 weekly sessions, the Summer relays, Winter track and hall sessions as well as registration with England Athletics. If you would like to know more, click here for full information about becoming a member.

Club Guidelines

  • We strongly advise our members to refrain from wearing headphones for safety purposes.
  • We also advise our members to wear high visibility gear in order to be safe.
  • We work to a time limit and do not currently cater for absolute beginners.
  • We do enter races as a club, and you can obtain Club Vests to wear for these events.
